Artist’s Talk and Conversation: Young Joon Kwak

Los Angeles–based artist Young Joon Kwak talks about their new sculptural installation, commissioned for MATRIX 285 / Young Joon Kwak: Resistance Pleasure. With Anthony Graham, Senior Curator, Kwak discusses the development of the project and how they use material and form to reconsider traditional expectations of representation. Drawing on their ongoing interest in performance, Kwak addresses the ways their work opens new conversations through collaboration and community, and forges relationships with new audiences.
