| The Red Balloon, Flyaway Dove and The Sound Collector | |
Recommended for age 5 and older. Flyaway Dove is a new non-verbal fantasy film by Edmond Sechan, the cameraman for The Red Balloon and director of The Golden Fish (shown in this series in March). Stunning aerial cinematography describes a young girl's dream of a breathtaking ride to a prince's palace (19 mins). Followed by the charming French film The Red Balloon, which, without dialogue, tells of a young boy's friendship with a balloon that seems to have a life of its own on the streets of Paris. Directed by Albert Lamorisse (1956, 34 mins, Color). And preceded by The Sound Collector, an innovative animated film about a boy with a great imagination (12 mins).
