3:00 p.m.	City Lights Charles Chaplin (U.S., 1931)

Tracing the Little Tramp's efforts to help a pretty young flower seller regain her sight, City Lights is Charlie Chaplin's most poetic film, combining graceful physical comedy with deeply poignant moments, such as when the girl, her eyesight restored, sees Charlie for the first time. By the time the movie was released, sound films were all the rage, but Chaplin determined that City Lights would be devoid of dialogue, with a score composed and carefully supervised by himself. His perfectionism paid off in a film that many critics consider his masterpiece.
