Beauty Revealed: Images of Women in Qing Dynasty Chinese Painting brings together approximately thirty paintings from public and private collections to investigate a relatively unexamined area of Chinese art history: meiren (beautiful women) paintings from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Organized in collaboration with UC Berkeley Professor Emeritus James Cahill, one of the world’s leading scholars of Chinese painting.
