- April 2,; 7:30 p.m.; Gallery B
RSVP on FacebookONDA members Ken Ueno and Tim Feeney team up for a set of improvised music featuring extended vocal techniques (Ueno) and percussion (Feeney) that expands timbral possibilities to create a kind of ritual music of an imaginary tribe of the future. A solo set by composer and cellist Joan Jeanrenaud follows, including pieces from her Grammy-nominated CD Strange Toys, as well as her soon-to-be-released collaboration with art-funk percussionist/beatmaker PC Muñoz, Pop-Pop, an exilharating mashup of contemporary classical/new music sensibilities and future-funk/hip-hop sonic aesthetics. She will be joined on some selections by Muñoz on electronic beats and drums. The evening ends with a set of improvised music by Jeanrenaud and Ueno.
