Symposium: Places at the Table: Asian Women Artists and Gender Dynamics

Co-organized by UC Berkeley’s Institute for East Asian Studies, the Center for Korean Studies, and Mills College, this daylong symposium will explore issues facing Asian women artists today. Mahjong exhibition artist Zhang O, whose work focuses on the status of girls in China, will be one of the featured presenters. The symposium relates to the exhibition The Offering Table: Korean Women Activist Artists at the Mills College Art Museum, and an exhibition at the IEAS Gallery of artist Mayumi Oda’s Goddesses series.
