Gallery Talk: Ai Weiwei and Uli Sigg
September 25, 2008; 12:00 NOON
Artist Ai Weiwei will join collector and former Swiss ambassador to China Uli Sigg to comment informally on a variety of issues pertaining to art and contemporary China, as suggested by work in the exhibition. Longtime friends and associates, artist and collector will engage in a spirited and unpredictable exchange.
One of China’s most important and influential artists, Ai Weiwei is an artist in residence at UC Berkeley in late September. He is known for his architectural design and his writing as well as his iconoclastic art practice.
Ai Weiwei’s residency is supported in part by Cheryl Haines Gallery.
