Thomas Allen Harris explores the intersections of race, family, and sexuality in this pioneering essay film, which focuses on three groups of queer black siblings (including the director and his brother) and the dynamics that have evolved between themselves, their families, and the worlds through which they travel. Jumping between multiple film stocks and video formats, interviews and monologues, and vérité and fantasy, Harris’s film makes the literal lyrical and the intimate epic, creating a fluid portrait of identity as forged by the familial.
